Our Pledge

As a regional organization, the ASID Florida North chapter is guided by the pillars of our national association, one of which includes Diversity and Inclusion and provides a safe space for everyone. We wholeheartedly support the Black community and firmly stand against racism and inequity of any kind. It is our commitment as a Board to implement positive change within our local design communities and continue to work toward greater inclusivity.

As a part of this pledge, we plan to:

  1. Seek out diverse designers and businesses for CEUs and panels
  2. Set up a new sponsorship grant for minority owned businesses
  3. Continue to plan inclusive strategies moving forward

ASID’S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STATEMENT

In principle and in practice, ASID values and seeks diversity and inclusive practices within the interior design profession. ASID believes diversity makes organizations more successful and communities more fulfilling. By actively cultivating a diverse community of professionals, we benefit from a vastly richer mix of ideas, perspectives and life experiences that expands our thinking and our possibilities. We are committed to building diversity of all kinds – on our staff, in our membership, and within the profession at large.

ASID promotes involvement, innovation, and expanded access to leadership opportunities that maximize engagement across identity groups and professional levels. Identity groups include and are not limited to age, appearance, disability, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, nationality, professional level, race, religion, and sexual orientation.

ASID will provide leadership and commit time and resources to accomplish this objective while serving as a model to other organizations engaged in D+I endeavors.
